Coalition of Community College Architecture Programs [CCCAP]

Welcome

The Coalition is a non-profit 501.3(c) organization dedicated to providing an alternate route to the architectural profession. We represent over 165 community colleges which offer Associate Degrees in Architecture. We are totally volunteer-based. We work together because we care about our fellow programs, students, and graduates. We strive to support our fellow faculty members and administrators as well as affiliate architecturally-related organizations.

Next Plans for winners of the SDC 2023

1.    Bea will be attending the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago this fall to pursue a BArch.

2.   Stefanie obtained a scholarship to get a bachelor's degree in interior architecture at Columbia College Chicago

3.   Steven plans to continue with my education at the University of Texas of San Antonio.

4.   Liliya is going to transfer to Jefferson University and get a bachelor's degree in architecture.

Why Begin at a Community College Architecture Program?

1.    “After attending traditional college for a year, I realized that architecture would be the perfect major for me. The reason behind going to a community college was my desire to attend classes with more hands-on learning opportunities and fewer lecture-based classes.” Bea Lizette

2.    “I heard a lot of good things about Community College of Philadelphia from my friends. I could try my hand at architecture and decide whether to move on.” Liliya

3.    “I began as an ESL student at San Antonio College, then progressed to college credit programs, and since I'd always known I wanted to study architecture and design, that is exactly what I did. I just earned an associate degree in architecture!” Stefanie Jara [Harold Washington College]

4.    “I have a big interest in art.  Being able to draw and create has always been a part of me. I quickly learned that art is heavily incorporated into architecture and it made me really like the profession.”  Steven

5.    “I decided to take my classes at San Antonio College {SAC] because it was the only campus that offered architecture.” Steven

6.    “With the help of my high school advisors, I found that SAC had an amazing program that developed the skills I have today.” Carlos
